Now You See Me 2 [Movie Review]

I remember being awed when I watched Now You See Me way back in 2013. The magic tricks and the mind illusions shown was superb.

So, here is my review about the latest Now You See Me 2. [Spoiler Alert] for those that haven't watch it yet.

The premise of the film is about revenge.  The Four Horsemen was forced to lay low since their last appearances. They stay in the shadows while waiting for instructions from The Eye and FBI Agent cum handler Dylan Rhodes.

Do you deliver for sahur?

They were given a mission to expose Owen Case of his corruption and evil intention to steal everybody's personal data via his software in his latest mobile phone. And they were introduced to Lula, the latest addition to replacing Henley Reeves. Apparently, she and Daniel Atlas called it quits with their relationship and Henley take the way out.

Why is there no internet connection here? I need to do updates

While in the midst of their magic tricks exposing Owen Case, they were interrupted by a mysterious individual who exposed the real identities of the Four Horsemen, including Jack Wilder who was supposed to be dead and that FBI Agent Dylan Rhodes is the mole. This forces the group to abandon their mission and escape. Somehow they all awaken in a Chinese restaurant in Macau and Dylan was left alone with no knowledge of the whereabout of the Four Horsemen.

Did he not get the memo about the dress code of colour black?

In Macau, the Four Horsemen met Walter Mabry, who wants them to steal the technology from Owen's very highly guarded facility. Here, with the assistance from Li and his grandmother who owns the best magic shop in Macau, the Four Horsemen showed their magic and illusion skills in requiring the technology.
Meanwhile, Dylan releases Thaddeus as Thaddeus knows where the Four Horsemen are. Together, they made their way to Macau. Dylan learned the unknown history about his father and Thaddeus managed to escape from him.

Did I overdress for the event?

Let's just pretend to be very attentive to what he is doing

Daniel learned that Mabry wants the technology for himself and fought against it. Dylan intervened and let Daniel ran to his safety. Dylan was captured by Chase, Merritt's twin brother, Mabry's accomplice. There Dylan learned the fact that Mabry is Arthur Tessler's illegitimate son who wishes to repay the Four Horsemen for what they have done to his father. Mabry ordered Dylan to be placed inside a safe box and left him to drown.

No one told her that there is an age limit policy to the club?

With the help of Li and his grandmother, the Four Horsemen strategize and save Dylan. They planned to expose the corruption done by Mabry and Arthur in London during the New Year celebration. Mabry noticed the pattern in the Four Horsemen acts and anticipated their every act.

I set fire to the rain

Will The Four Horsemen be able to outwit Mabry and his father? Will the mystery of Dylan's father death be answered? Who is The Eye?

Plot: 4.9/5.0. I love the twist of the film. I was on my toes, trying to keep up with the tricks so that I can guess the next act, but I always failed in guessing any of it.
The Act: 4.9/5.0. Top class acts from everyone.
