The Accountant [Movie Review]

Thanks to Screenbite for inviting me to the premiere of The Accountant, starring Ben Affleck and Anna Kendrick.

Christian Wolff is an autistic, mathematical genius that works as a forensic accountant for various criminal enterprises introduced to him by a mysterious figure known only by "The Voice'.

A kid with no shirt on and hug by a military guy? This could cost you a jail time and a few whips, man.

Growing up, Chris was denied treatment by his military father and taught that the only way to overcome his 'weaknesses' and 'differences' was to become stronger and challenged everything. Thus, his father put him and his brother, Braxton through various physical training and martial arts to overcome his 'sickness'. 

Chris's involvement with the various crime enterprises has attracted Raymond King's attention but King couldn't find his true identity as the pictures of Chris only shows his physical appearance without his face.

I think this weapon is a bit too much for the funfair, don't you think, Ben?

Being the director of financial crimes of the Treasury Department, he named Chris as "The Accountant" and recruited Marybeth Medina to help him identify and arrest 'The Accountant' before his retirement. Medina has no choice as King threatened to expose Medina's criminal past if she refuses. 
Via her connections and thorough observations, Medina realised that The Accountant uses various famous mathematicians' names to cover himself and finally able to identify him when she isolates his voice from a video recording, where he was humming a nursery rhyme while on a killing spree of a crime family.

At the same time, The Voice has instructed Chris to audit a corporation where the in-house accountant, Dana Cummings, has found suspicious financial discrepancies. Together, they found that USD61 million has been embezzled from the company. Chris and Dana were positive that the CFO, Chilton was the culprit and decided to report the finding to Rita, the associate of the corporation. Later that nightAt home, Chilton was confronted by a hitman named 'The Assasin' who told him to overdose his insulin if he wants his wife to survive.

I hope the camera catches my best side from that angle

OMG! Is that the figure that Angie will be getting from Brad?

And in the morning, Chris was dismissed as Lamar, the corporation's CEO, concluded that Chilton was the culprit who decided to end his life out of guilt, leaving Chris distraught as he had not completed his study on the case.

I don't think this is a telescope to spy on the neighbors

Will Chris be able to expose the real story of the embezzlement? Will Medina be able to expose the real identity of The Accountant?

Plot: 4.9/ 5.0. I love the twist that The Accountant has in store. You will keep on guessing the culprit and the storyline until the end of the movie. It keeps you awake throughout the movie.
The Cast: 5.0/5.0. No complaint at all about the cast - Ben Affleck, Anna Kendrick, J.K. Simmons, Jon Bernthal and Cynthia Addai-Robinson was the perfect cast for their respective characters. Ben portrays the characteristics of an autistic person amazingly.
