Split [Movie Review]

Split is not about splitting the bills after having a hearty lunch at a posh restaurant.  Nor it is about splitting after being together for 8 years and you were supporting the other half the whole time. And certainly not about the splitting ends hair problem that some of us have. 

24 personalities in one person - that is one busy host

I have read about Multiple Personality Disorder in one of Sidney Sheldon novels entitled "Tell Me Your Dreams" and I was wondering, that particular actor/ actress have to be a great one to become that character/ s.
So when Klips My invited me for the premiere screening of Split, starring James McAvoy, I said yes without even checking my plan for the day.

Dennis, a patient of severe dissociative identity disorder (DID) kidnapped Claire, Marcia, and Casey. Dennis is one of the 23 identities that sits inside the host, Kevin and he is the violent one. Initially, 'Barry' controls the identities but 'Patricia' and 'Dennis' dethroned Barry and took control.

Who blink the eyelids first will clean the toilet bowl, using a toothbrush for a month

Whys is it so hard to open the door?

'Dennis'  masqueraded as 'Barry" and meet up with his psychiatrist, Dr. Fletcher following a request for a meeting by 'Barry'. Over the sessions to come, Dr. Fletcher realised the tiny discrepancies of the behaviour and she suspected that 'Dennis' has overcome 'Barry' and responsible for the current kidnapping incident.
Meanwhile, the girls wanted to attack their kidnapper but dissuaded by Casey who told them to wait for a better chance. After several attempts to escape failed, Claire and Marcia were put into isolated cells. Casey befriended 'Hedwig', another identity of Kevin. 'Hedwig' is a small boy of 9 years old that needed a companion and Casey offered him the companionship whilst watching for ways to escape from her cell.

'Patricia' told them that 'Dennis' will not touch them as all of them serves a higher purpose which is to welcome the last identity 'The Beast'.
Dr. Fletcher went to see 'Barry' at his home and once inside, realised that 'Dennis' was responsible for the kidnapping. She was killed while trying to release the girls. Before she was killed, she wrote on a piece of paper about ways to control Kevin, the host.

I am no cougar - but it is James McAvoy - should I?

Will the girls survive through 'Dennis' and 'Patricia's plan? What is ' The Beast'?

Plot: 4.95/ 5.0. The story was twisted, sad, horrifying and intense - all rolled into one very great movie. Go and watch it - then you will know why I said so. I don't want to reveal too many interesting facts about Split.
The Cast: 4.9/ 5.0. James McAvoy as the DID patient is a spot-on choice. He did the character beautifully - you can even see how the face contracts and changes as the new identity take over. James is one very creepy talented actor. Anya did an amazing job as the victim.
Will I Watch It Again: I don't mind watching in again in cinema and certainly will buy the DVD.
