John Wick: Chapter 2 [Movie Review]

How's 2017 has been treating you so far?
I have been so swarmed with proposals, meetings and problems and I really need a time out.

So, I chose John Wick: Chapter 2.

The movie started off with continuation scenes from where it ended in 2014. John came after the owner of the chop shop that took his favourite Mustang, killed/ maimed/ hurt all the guards.

I need to win this game of  'Galah Panjang' and I am cursed with these short arms.

Amazingly, he left the owner of the chop shop after toasting to a 'Peace' treaty between the both of them. Departing with his car, John called out 'Peace' with the owner of the chop shop and headed home to his new pet dog. 

Santino D'Antonio, a member of the crime lords came to ask John of his oath via a 'marker' to assist Santino in assassinating his sister so that Santino could take her place in the 'High Table'. John declined. Not satisfied with John's reply, Santino decided to take everything from John's life by setting his house on fire with a grenade launcher. Somehow, John and the dog survived.

I am a self-centric person - I love to look at myself in the mirror for hours.

Seeking refuge, John went to The Continental and was advised by Winston to take up the job by Santino if he values his own life. Reluctantly, John went on the mission and killed Gianna, Santino's sister.
Cassian, the personal guard to Gianna realised something amiss when he saw John in the party where the coronation of Gianna should take place. When he realised that Gianna was killed, he immediately ran after John with his troop. Running for his life from the Cassian's party, John met a group of assassins, sent by Santino to clear up any loose ends. 

He broke the glass. Not me.

Again, running for his life, John met Cassian. A fight broke and accidentally, both of them crashed into the Continental ground where no blood should be shed. The fight stopped. Upon leaving, Cassian vowed to kill John in the quickest way, as a sign of 'professionalism'.

Again, another self-centric pr*ck. He installed mirrors all over the house, from ceiling to the floor!

With these birds, I feel superior

If I keep going out in a mess like this, it might become a fashion trend

When Santino learned that John lives, he put up a contract of USD7 Million on John and get every assassin hot on John's trails. Towards the end of his wit and life, John sought refuge from  Bowery King, the underground crime lord. Bowery helped him to find his passage to Santino in the museum but Santino managed to escape into the Continental ground. Despite Winston's warning, John killed Santino in the lounge of the Continental ground.

And you are giving me a compact powder, WHY?

What will happen to John since he broke the Continental's rule?

Plot: 4.3/ 5.0. If you have watched the first instalment, then this one is of no big surprise. No unexpected twist in the second chapter but the action is great and made my heart racing non-stop from the get go.
The Cast: 4.7/ 5.0. Say what they want but I love Keanu in this role. He is super cool, super buff (for his age, he is 53 years old for heaven's sake) and fits the role perfectly. The other characters are equally great - Common, Laurance Fishburne, Ruby Rose (oooooo... drooling over this amazingly beautiful beauty) and others. Great actors!
Will I Watch It Again: I don't mind watching it again and yes, I will buy the DVD!
