Logan [Movie Review]

X-Men was the very first mutant cartoon that I watched when I way younger and it sticks with me until now. It is still my favourite cartoon and movie until now.

So, when Logan airs, I did not waste any time to watch it in the cinema.

In 2029, mutants are near extinction with no new mutants having been born in the last 25 years. Logan aka Wolverine now stays low and works as a chauffeur. Together with Caliban, they take care of the ailing Prof. X, who now and then will lose control of his ability and causes a devastating effect on everybody near him.

You want to ride my ride, babe?

This is not my usual ride. Have we come to this, Logan?

Logan himself is in no great condition. The adamantium is poisoning him and slowing his healing ability. While chauffeuring, Logan meets Gabriela who needs his help with her girl, Laura, which he ignored.

Only after he meets Donald, a mercenary of a sort, that confronted him about Laura, Logan reluctantly accepted the job offered by Gabriela to take her and Laura to a place call 'Eden' in North Dakota. 'Eden' is supposedly a haven for mutants. However, Gabriela was killed by Donald before they even depart to North Dakota.

The facial operation cost me my right hand.

Who took my gummybear?

Sensing trouble, Logan returns to the hideout without knowing that Laura was hiding in the trunk. Caliban senses Laura. Prof. X meets Laura for the first time but he knows that Laura and Logan are related. The introduction was cut short by the sudden appearance of Daniel and his troop. Logan confronts the troop and he sees that Laura has his ability, plus the adamantium claws on her feet.
After narrowly escapes the troop, Prof. X, Laura and Logan hide in a hotel where they learn the truth about Laura dan Gabriela. Daniel and the troop quickly caught up with them. There, Prof. X experiences another episode of his seizure which causes the whole hotel guests to experience the effect of his psychic blast which freezes everyone and allows Logan to kill the troop.

Somehow, my army is made up of good looking men.

This is way easier than walking. Especially when Wolverine carries you

Again on the run, a family they met on the road gives them shelter for the night. Yet, Donald manages to track them and releases a clone of Wolverine, X 24 to kill Logan. X 24 kills Prof. X and the whole family. Laura and Logan combined their power to attack the clone. It was Caliban's selfless action to sacrifice himself that allows Logan and Laura to escape from the scene.

Too tired, Logan falls asleep and Laura drives them to Eden. There, they meet with the other mutant kids. Logan leaves Laura with the kids who hopes to cross the border.

After all that carnage, you still want to steal my gummy bear?

Will the kids find their peace? What will happen to Logan?

Plot: 4.6/ 5.0. Please ensure that you are ready for the totally different plot of a mutant movie. This is not your typical X-Men/ Avengers movie. It is about the emotional journey of a dying hero and his legacy. 
The Cast: 4.6/ 5.0. Marvellous performances by the actors. No complaint whatsoever here.
Will I Watch It Again: I don't mind watching it again. I will buy the DVD too for my collection.
