Last weekend, I went to the opening of Sunway Lagoon's gates of horror, Nights of Fright 5 (NOF 5 | #SunwayLagoonNOF5). It started with the flagging off of its Nights of the Undead Run where some 1,300 participants ran for their lives to the finishing line by completing obstacles such as Outbreak, Spider Web and Survivor at various stations.

I love watching horror movies, yes. But please do not put me inside a haunted house, albeit a make-believe one. I tried to enter once and I kept my eyes shut throughout the journey - with my screaming resonating non-stop even. Haha.
But this time around, I gathered all my courage and kept my cool as I wanted to try the 'deadly attractions' that NOF 5 has to offer - The Island of the Dolls, Ouija, Dystopia, Ghostbusters, Day of the Dead 3D, Pontianak vs Pocong, Horrorwood Studios, Zombie Apocalypse. Horrorwood Boulevard, Zombie Pirates, Forest of Fear, Judgement Lane and March of the Undead.

In NOF 5, there will be 8 Haunted Houses, 5 Scare Zones, 11 Thrill Rides and 4 Show Stages. Unfortunately, I didn't manage to experience all except for Dystopia, Ouija, The Island of the Dolls, Pontianak vs Pocong and March of the Undead. Nevermind not trying all, I was exhausted from all the screaming at the end of my journey that day.
The Island of the Dolls was inspired by a tourist attraction in Mexico - it does keep me clinging to my friends throughout the journey. The dolls are creepy and the surrounding is scary too!

A magnificent show by the ghouls |
I regretted my decision of entering Ouija because the house is a scary mess - haunted and creepy heighten by 1000 folds! I survived Ouija but the scenes in the house still haunt me until today!

Looks like spirits running right? |
In Dystopia, the scenes are gory and certainly horrific - a patient being sawed, a bloody patient and a disfigured nurse - you can expect all these haunting figures in this dysfunctional hospital.
As we were walking to watch Pontianak vs Pocong, we were greeted by the unsettled spirits - then I realised - we were in the March of the Undead. So, be careful as they might be standing beside you, watching your every move.
“Nights of Fright is one of the most significant events in our calendar and the whole team is committed to improve and make it more exciting every year. We have new attractions infused in this year’s instalment with different scare levels for all and we assure you that no guest will leave without screaming! Bring your loved ones to enjoy a night out at NOF 5 or simply for them to face their fears!” said Sean Choo, General Manager of Sunway Lagoon.
Lynton V. Harris, Chairman & CEO of The Sudden Impact! Entertainment Company said, “The team injected a slice of true events and myths inspired by Asian horror stories to create a close representation of the attractions. This year, we have Oujia, The Island of the Dolls, Dystopia and much more for the timid to the thrill junkies! The festival is scarier than before so come by as this is biggest and most anticipated event of the year!”
NOF 5 comes to life at 7.30pm – 11.30pm every Friday – Sunday from 7th to 29th October including 31st October 2017. Tickets are priced at RM64.
Guests can upload their experience and include the #SunwayLagoonMY and #SunwayLagoonNOF5 to their social pages.
