Malaysians are getting more creative by the day. I see a lot of new creations and brands coming up and I often wonder if all these innovators/ creators/ business developers/ entrepreneurs protect the labour of their creative thinking ie their products. Because 'copycats' love to imitate a great idea and tweak it into their own, which happens a lot nowadays. Trivia about MyIPO

• MyIPO is an agency under the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Co-operative and Consumerism and prior to 1983, the intellectual property rights were administered by Pejabat Cap Dagangan dan Jaminhak before changing its name to Pejabat Cap Dagangan dan Paten and placed under the jurisdiction of the then Ministry of Trade and Industry.
• After a restructuring on 27 October 2990, the office changed its name to Intellectual Property Division and placed under the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (which is now Ministry of Domestic Trade, Co-operative and Consumerism). The division was tasked to administer Patents Act 1983, Trade Marks Act 1976 and Copyright Act 1987.
