A Quiet Place [Movie Review]

When I first saw the trailer, it got me intrigued to know what is going on with the family. So many questions were going through my mind and when A Quiet Place airs, I forced my friends to watch it with me.
I love horror flicks, but due to some bad experiences in the past, I will never again watch horror flicks alone in the cinema. It has been quite some time since I watched premieres though.

SYNOPSIS In 2020, the world has become silent and overrun by sightless yet hypersensitive hearing aliens. The Abbott family lives by the rule that they should make no sound and walk on the sand-marked path only. The youngest, Beau found a space shuttle toy during their food-scavenge routine which his father relieves him, fears that the sound might attract the aliens.
The eldest, Regan pities Beau and gives back the space shuttle to him. On their way back to their house, Beau stops and plays with the toy which attracts the aliens. His father, Lee tries to save the boy but the alien was faster in killing the little boy.

A year later, the family lives on the farm and the mother, Evelyn is in the final stage of pregnancy. Despite her father's insistence that Beau's death was not her fault, Regan thinks that the family hates her for that terrible incident. She walks to visit Beau's grave while her father teaches his little brother, Marcus how to fish.
With no one accompanying her, Evelyn realises that she is in labor. Retreating to the basement, she steps on a protruding nail on the steps and accidentally drops one of the family portraits. The noise attracts one the creature.
Evelyn signals the family that she is in labor by turning the strings of white-coloured bulbs to red lights. One of the aliens enters the house and starts to look for the cause of the noise it heard before. Evelyn was literally fighting for her life as she tries to climb up to the bathroom in between her contractions, without making a sound.

Lee and Marcus arrive at the farm and notice that the red lights are on. Lee instructs Marcus to fire the rockets while he tries to save Evelyn. The fireworks hide the screaming of Evelyn and attract the alien away from Evelyn while she was having the baby. 
Regan notices the fireworks and starts to run towards the house. She stops midway when she saw a flashlight in the cornfield and investigates. She finds Marcus and both of them take refuge atop a grain silo before Marcus falls into the silo when one of the silo's doors give way. The alien hears the commotion and finds the kids, clinging to their dear lives by grasping on silo's door. Regan's cochlear implant reacts to the proximity of the creature by emitting loud, high-frequency sound that drives the creature off.

Lee eventually finds the children and makes their way into the house. The creature returns and Lee attacks the creature with a farming equipment while the kids hide in a truck. Realising that the only way for the kids to survive was by drawing the creature away from them, Lee shouts to attract the creature closer to him.
Will the family survive the ordeal?

MY REVIEW

Plot: 4.7/ 5.0. The plot was a bit predictable. The alien comes, the family fights and so on. But the cast managed to bring the plot into a terrifying fight of survival throughout the movie. The only thing that my friend keeps on saying was 'why do you get pregnant when you know that all these creatures are waiting to eat you when you scream?'. 
Cast: 5.0/ 5.0. The perfect cast for the movie. The cast was very small in number but they were fabulous and committed to their roles.
Will I watch it again: YES! Rawlins GLAM
