Regal Delicacies @ Kontiki Restaurant, The Federal KL

Cooking straight from the a 168-page Coffee Table cookbook 'Favourite Dishes from the Tunku's Kitchen', the Kontiki Restaurant at The Federal KL prepared a mammoth spread of authentic Kampung delicacies and traditional delights complemented with favourite local flavours.

With the theme 'Juadah Kampung Buffet Dinner' the Kontiki Restaurant displays more than 100 traditional dishes and there are 8 menus to rotate daily. And most of them are the favourite of Malaysia's beloved first Prime Minister, YTM Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al Haj as per specially-selected from the cookbook.
I was invited to the buffet last Friday and have the chance to taste the delicacies there together with the children from Rumah Nur Kasih Bestari. It was indeed a very humbling experience to break the fast with the adorable kids. It reminded me to be thankful for each day and its gift.

With its vast space indoor and refreshing outdoor overlooking the pool, one can dine/ break the fast comfortably here. Unlike some places where they cramp all those chairs and table closely together, I can move freely while choosing my food. And I love the decoration too - there are colourful chairs and there are huge cradle chairs. The cradle chairs (is that how we call it? I don't know hahaha) adds that extra elegance into the dining hall.
