The Hustle [Movie Review]

Last weekend, I managed to squeeze some time after iftar with friends to watch the latest comedy flick, as we do not want to burden our thoughts by watching serious or horror flicks. 

Hence, we watched The Hustle, featuring Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson.

• This is advertised as a remake of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (1988) starring Steve Martin, Michael Caine and Glenne Headly. "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" is actually a remake of Bedtime Story (1964) with Marlon Brando, David Niven and Shirley Jones.

• Because the film's PG-13 rating was originally an "R," Rebel Wilson had to go out and argue with the board that the film was no raunchier than similar comedies that had received PG-13 ratings featuring male actors. Her efforts prevailed.

Jospehine is a high-class con artist who swindles aristocrats of their luxuries and cash and lives in a villa in Beaumont-sur-Mer. Whereas Penny is a small-time con artist, preying upon men who will fall for her coaxing words for a simple meal and day-to-day cash.
Upon their fated meeting, both tried to outdo each other in every single meet right after. Sensing that Penny will not go away and will further become a hindrance to her 'job', Josephine agrees to take Penny in and teach her a classier way of conning people with a trick or two.

In the midst of coaching and mentoring, both think that one is better than the other. Both of them wants to be the best and to outdo Medusa, the notorious and legendary con artist. So, they made a wager that the first one that manages to pull a USD500K scam job will win the contest and the loser will have to leave town.

And they both set their eyes on a clueless young tech millionaire.

MY REVIEW

Plot: 4.7/ 5.0. You would think that you understand the movie and know how it ends. But you are wrong. The movie is light, funny and brilliant at the same time.  
Cast: 4.8/ 5.0. I agree to the cast members - they are magnificent!
Will I watch it again: Yes, I would! The pictures are taken from IMDb and other sources on the Internet. Thank you.
