The Butterfly Project Malaysia's Christmas Party Gets Prettier with Dolly Wink | When Mamasan, Tammy Lim announced that there will be a Christmas Party coming our way and it's a collaboration with a huge name in Japan's Beauty scene, I was already planning what to wear as we all know that Japanese fashion scene is grand and pretty and individualistic. 
Then she announced the theme 'Japanese Kawaii Christmas'. My creative wheel stopped at its track - where would I get such an outfit?

She added on 'Every Butterfly should come with no eye makeup as Dolly Wink, the collaborator wants to have an eye makeup contest using its latest falsies - Easy Lash.'
What? Me? Going out without the eye makeup? Never been heard off!
As the day nears, I finally decided to just wear whatever I have in my closet and bought other complementary fashion items (I only spent less than  RM100 for the additional items) to complete my look for 'Japanese Kawaii Christmas'.
Over the years of my making up, I have always been struggling to set my falsies. More often than not my falsies will not be symmetrical and I will have to redo the falsies. After putting on and off for quite some time, some follicles might come off and I will always throw away the falsies after one use. And I dreaded to wear them for a long time. They are heavy. 

My girlfriends have said the same thing too about putting on falsies - it takes a lot of time to set it right, they don't look natural, the lifespan is very short and some are heavy. Not wanting to waste time, most of them have opted to have lash extensions instead. Albeit that it also needs proper handling and very fragile too, at least they will save a few minutes in the morning for not having to set up the falsies.

So, the thought of having to apply falsies in front of others, moreover having a contest on it, made me cringed. I know for a fact that I will be taking forever to put them on, with various weird facial contortions. Those who saw my face while putting on the falsies will be having nightmares for quite some time, that I can be sure of.

The day comes. Arriving at 163 Mont Kiara, after putting on the bright purple anime wig (I bought it online for RM20), I made my way to Kakiyuki. After jotting my attendance down and Pinkunosakura handed me my goodie bag, I made my way to the table and booked a table (so kiasu hahaha). Spotting some Dolly Wink items on the table, I quickly took some pictures of it, without even realizing that those were someone else's and I have all of them inside my goodie bag. I guessed I was feeling a bit anxious about my over-the-top appearance (WHAT? RAWLINS? FEELING ANXIOUS ABOUT APPEARANCE? Yes. I am a human too) 
As I was among the first few who arrives early, I took the chance to take some pictures around Kakiyuki and its spread of yummy desserts. There I met some old friends and new Butterflies (and suddenly I feel so old, because they were so young). Haha.

The dessert spread was so yummy - the daifuku, rolls, warabomochi and pudding were so pleasing to the eyes. And they were all equally tasty too. They were all so soft, jiggly and yummy and now I know where to bring my J-crazy friends who eat all things Japan. 
Then the event starts with the one and only emcee of the year, Leonard Dee greeted everyone, followed by Mamasan. Here are some of the points of Mamasan's welcome speech.

• The Christmas Party is a collaboration between Dolly Wink (Kojihonpo Malaysia) and the Butterfly Project Malaysia.
• The event is also a Launch Party for Easy Lash by Dolly Wink - marking a comeback for falsies into the beauty scene- bigger, better and more comfortable.
• Easy Lash introduces 16 new designs of falsies for modern people and there is one for every occasion.
• Befitting its name, Easy Lash is easy to apply, only 10 seconds to be perfectly fitted to one's eyes.

After a sweet and short introduction, the Easy Lash Contest began. We were told to choose among the four falsies that we have received in the goodie bag. Dolly Wink provided two sets of eye shadows and a ring light mirror for us to use. We were told to only put a falsie and eye makeup on one eye before being evaluated by the plainclothed judges (plainclothed? I think too much watching The Blacklist make me think and write like the spy series too)
Upon opening the pack of Easy Lash #16, I was pleasantly surprised that there are signs for Left and Right falsie, together with a tube of falsie glue inside it. I will not be putting the falsie on the wrong side anymore with the signs so clearly visible on the pack.

And I realized that the falsies are slightly shorter, not the normal length of falsies. Of which I often have to cut them a bit, as my eyes are not as wide. And man, it was so easy and fast to have them on. A mere 10 seconds was all I needed to put them on.

1. Apply glue on the base of the falsies
2. Tilt head a bit and with your eyes half-closed, put the base of falsies on the root of own lashes.
3. As the Easy Lash are a tad shorter than the normal ones, I chose to put mine from the middle towards the end of the lash line.
4. I am done. 

I was amazed at how fast I was at fixing the falsies. And the best was, I did not do all those weird faces and angles just to have them on. And no more putting on, putting off then putting on again (X 1000 times) just to make sure that the falsies sit right and symmetrical. 

This minty goodness is DELICIOUS!

While waiting for the judges to go round and look at our eyes, we were treated to the kakigori - any flavor of our choosing. As it was huge, we were advised to share a kakigori with another Butterfly. And the one that I shared with Ayue Jean was marvelous! She was smart to pick the one from the Christmas specials. This delicious minty shaved ice is called Chocolate Mint kakigori, a luscious mixture of Belgian chocolate and mint with brownies, crushed hazelnut and topped with maple epsume and a chocolate star cookie. The emcee then announced for everyone to complete the makeup. As I am always for fun makeup and will not settle for ordinary, I just overdid my eyeliner with the soft and pointy eyeliner of Dolly Wink. The liner just ran smoothly and I would say, the cleanest line that I have ever created for my eyes.

Then Mamasan announced the winner of the best eye makeup and I was among the five that received RM100 voucher to shop for makeup items on 4allbeauty platform. Oh yeah. I will be shopping for my Christmas presents on 4allbeauty platform, y'all.

Thanks so much to the Butterfly Project Malaysia  and Dolly Wink (Kojihonpo Malaysia) for organizing such a grand Christmas Party that certainly has set a high standard for the other parties to follow. Albeit we only stayed for 2 hours, I truly enjoyed myself, meeting and making friends and trying out the Easy Lash.

The lash is super comfy and light that I almost forgot to take them off when I arrived home. I only realised that I still have them on when I was about to remove my makeup.

Eh. Why are my lashes thicker and longer?
Haha. I haven't taken off the Easy Lash. I took them off and carefully set them both back on their own specific slot in the box.
