Dolittle [Movie Review]

When I saw the trailers for Dolittle, it piques my interest to watch it. Well, I have been living in my own world where my lovely cats are talking to me, so yes - I have to watch this movie.

Watching Robert Downey Jr. playing this role is another reason why I watched it - being a 'normal' human just like the rest of us and not some robot flying around saving the world.

The movie starts with the backstory of Dr. Dolittle's life - when he started to talk to animals, met his wife, Lily and until he lost his wife. After the loss of his wife at sea, he confines himself to his home and just attending to his animals - no longer wanting contact with other humans.

When Tommy asks for his help to treat a squirrel that he accidentally shot and led to the house by Dolly the parrot, Dr. Dolittle tries his best to get rid of Tommy. Then along comes Lady Rose from the Buckingham Palace, requesting for his assistance to save the Queen's life. Dr. Dolittle refused to help Lady Rose, but Dolly knocked some senses into him being that the deed of the land will return to the Ministry of Finance if the Queen dies.
Accompanied by the entire congress of animals, Dr. Dolittle visits the ailing Queen and manages to get an idea of what's the cause of the sickness, thanks to the help of the indoor octopus in the aquarium, just beside the Queen's bed. 

So, off the congress go to find the cure for the illness - across the ocean into the unknowing territory. But first, they have to find the ques as to where the cure is and try to avoid being caught by his competitor, Dr. Blair.
Will they able to beat the odds and find the cure, thus save their land?

MY REVIEW Plot: 3.0/ 5.0 Predictable yet entertaining. 
Cast: 3.3/ 5.0 Robert certainly took on a different character for this one. And I love all the quirky animals in the movie. 
Will I Watch It Again: No. I will watch it online perhaps, with my nieces and nephews. The pictures are taken from IMDb and other sources on the Internet. Thank you.
