Underwater [Movie Review]

Underwater [Movie Review] | It seems like Hollywood is shifting their focus to monsters underwater lately [The Meg, Godzilla series, The Shallows, 47 Metres Down series to name a few) that when I first saw the trailers for Underwater, I just thought 'is that an alien race or another monster? I gotta see this'.

So, yes, I went and watched the movie.

The movie started with the newspaper clippings of the Marian trench deepsea exploration by Tian Industries and the tremor series that has been happening - believed to be caused by the exploration works.
Norah was in the bathroom when a huge earthquake hits the station and destroys most parts of the station. Norah, Captain Lucien, Emily, and a few other crews manage to run to safety at the control base. Capt. Lucien recommends that they put on the pressurized suit and walk one mile cross the ocean floor to Roebuck Station 641. 

As the group makes their way across the ocean floor, they come across an escape pod that was supposed to have made its way to the surface. Inside the pod, they discover a body and a hatchling creature emerges from the body. They managed to kill the creature and as they study the creature, they realize that it is an undiscovered species. 
The group continues their journey on the ocean floor, only to realize that they are no longer alone. The nearer they are to the Roebuck Station, the nearer they are to the grandest discovery of their lives.
What are the creatures - aliens or monsters? Will they survive these creatures?

MY REVIEW Plot: 4.6/ 5.0 The movie goes straight into the action right from the get-go. It was fast-pacing and some points, get me excited and shaken up by the jumpscare and the attacks. You'll get to see the creatures towards the end of the movie and that gets you more excited (I was).    Cast: 4.4/ 5.0 My dearest Kristen has apparently learned to show more facial expressions nowadays and it shows in the movie. The cast delivered, but greatly but just adequate to make their characters believable.
Will I watch it again: This one is not the movie that I will be watching again, exciting as it was. The pictures are taken from IMDb and other sources on the Internet. Thank you.
