MH17: Always in Our Memory | I still remembered the day when my phone was bombarded with messages on the incident of MH17, within months of the disappearance of MH370. And I remembered that sad feeling that engulfed the whole nation, and the whole world too I would say, about the incident. 

And I will again love to repeat the same sentences that my friend shared "I know no one personally on that flight. However, I am no less sad. My grief is for my nation"

Now, 6 years after, we Malaysians are still clueless as to what had actually happened. And to shed some light on some of the questions, a documentary titled 'MH17: In Search of Truth' by Ukrleaks was produced by an independent party on the tragedy, perhaps to provide some answers and closure to some. 

The self-funded documentary by Vasily Prozorov and a few other volunteers took 5 months to complete, focusing on inaccuracies of official statements in the Kiev, Ukraine.

Vasily, a former officer of 15 years at the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the Head of Vasily Prozorov Investigative Center 'UkrsLeaks', decided to start his own investigation on the matter when he realized that there were discrepancies between the official statements and the reports/ information that Vasily and his team obtained from their informants and witnesses. They decided to dig on how much details were excluded from the official reports that were shared with the world. 

Vasily and his teams focused their documentary on answering some of the provoking questions such as 'who was the real mastermind?', 'why was the airspace not closed?', 'who were the British Special Services Officers and why were they there BEFORE the incident?'. The team believed that the public will find some answers to these questions via the almost 40-minutes documentary.

The documentary was divided into two parts of which Prozorov analyzed the official reports and compiled the statements made by the Ukrainian authorities and the joint investigation team.  Whereas in the second part, Vasily offered his own view and raised some thought-provoking arguments that he placed on the public on the MH17 tragedy and the official findings. 

My prayers go out to those who lost their loved ones in the incident and I hope that one will view the documentary with open hearts and minds and some questions be answered here and perhaps, allow some people to find closure.
