Grand Tea Time @ The Verandah with Your Best Buddy | With the global pandemic is still around, some normalcies have changed forever and some are coming back, albeit slowly. I miss the old days where I could leisurely spend time with my friends strolling happily the city walkways, watching movies, and gossiping over tea and scones (wahhh so English la).

Trying to claiming some of our past normal routines, I took one of my best friends for tea at The Verandah at The Federal Kuala Lumpur. I told Jae 'First, we have tea and later we go for heavier meals ok.', positive that the tea time meals will leave me still hungry.

But boy, was I wrong!

With our chairs facing the vast window overlooking the pool and the sun shines directly onto our place, it was a perfect tea time setting - with all the SOP in place by The Federal KL - check-in via the apps, temperature check, and hand sanitizers. And the tables are 1 meter apart and only seats two pax at a time.

The tea began with yummy savories that include Crispy Shredded Chicken with Pepper flavor. I love my coffee but since it was tea time, I ordered Chamomile hot tea to accompany my tea time meals. 

Then the waiter came along with the 3-tier tea time rack that looks so colorful from afar. The scones and the macaroon certainly stand out among the arrangements.  Me, being a dessert freak that I am, my eyes went straight to the macaroons!

So, what were on the plates? So everything was in two since it is tea for two; 

• Healthy Tuna Sandwich
• Smoked Salmon and Asparagus on crispy potatoes, carrot vs peanut butter
• Freshly baked orange peel scones with clotted cream and jam (yummy!)
• Lavender Mousselines
• Macaroons
• Lemonade S'more Tartlet
• Brownies Cheese Cake
• For tea, you may select from brew tea ranging from Earl Grey to Chamomile or green tea. 
• You want coffee? Options are Latte, Cappuccino or Black Coffee. 

True enough, I was full by the end of the tea. These finger foods were so delicious that I literally licked my fingers by the end of the tea. It certainly was so fulfilling that my friend and I decided that we need to walk the tea off after the meal - with hopes that we will burn the calories. Haha.

I have to admit that I would love to eat more macaroons (one is not enough for a dessert freak like me).
