Brazen [Movie Review] | It has been quite some time since I last seen Alyssa Milano on the silver screen. She reminded me of the good old days of Charmed.

Will I be charmed by her performance in Brazen?

• There were some controversy when Alyssa was cast for the role of Grace, due to her involvement with #MeToo movement. Nora Roberts stick to her decision to cast Alyssa.
  

Desiree is a dominatrix that everyone wants in the virtual world managed by Fantasy Inc. 

In the real world, Desiree is Kathleen, a high-school teacher who loves plays and ancient history and her students. 

Elsewhere, her sister, Grace who is the famous author of murder-mystery novels, has just finished her book-reading ceremony. She flies over to see Kathleen when she receives an emergency call from Kathleen. Later, she learns that Kathleen has been sober for quite some time, currently exploring and thriving as a teacher and she is going to fight her ex-husband for her son's custody. 

Oh. She also has some dirts on her ex-husband that she will use to discredit her husband during the hearing.

The next day, Grace meets Kathleen's neighbour, Ed, a hunky homicide police who is currently enjoying his days off after solving a case. The two hits it off and goes on a date later that night.

While preparing dinner, Kathleen receives a phone call - an important request for Desiree to be on the screen. She decides to 'play' online. 

When Grace returns home later, she finds Kathleen's lifeless body in her bedroom. Ed rushes over when he hears Grace screams.

Later, she learns that Kathleen has been living a double life. Grace determines to investigate her sister's death but Ed is against the idea.

When another dominatrix is murdered, Grace requests to be a profiler for the police force, to which the captain agrees to.

Will Grace be able to solve the mystery of her sister's death?

MY REVIEW

Plot: 4.0/ 5.0 I guessed the criminal as early as the crime was committed. The plot was simple, but as the movie is based on a novel by Nora Roberts, the emphasize on relationship is a given.

Cast: 4.3/ 5.0 Everyone delivers - Alyssa more than the others. Was I charmed? Not so.

Will I Watch It Again: I guess one time is enough for this one.
