With the theme of Pentas Citarasa, Putrajaya Marriott Hotel brings forth a vast array of delicious dishes prepared the humble Chef Zulkifli, who is fondly known as Waklan at the hotel. 

Befitting the theme of Pentas Citarasa (literal translation is The Stage of Taste), Waklan introduces Pakzam (Chef Suhairizam) to share the stage with him this coming Ramadhan. 

As Waklan will be in charge of the main dishes, Pakzam will oversee the dessert part as he is excellent in making mouth-watering desserts. This year, Pakzam brings the ever-green desserts or in our local loving words 'Tak lapuk dek hujan, tak lekang dek panas'. 

The theme is beautifully portrayed as you enters the dining area. The muzik of gamelan fills the air, and the sight of the gamelan players strumming the mythical sound greets you at the beautiful palace facade. 

I was handed a pair of gloves to use while taking the food from the buffet by the ever-smiling waiter before he showed me to my table. Yes, the distance from one table to the other is evident and everyone is adhering to the SOPs of mask-wearing and social distancing while making rounds at the buffet area. 

And my, the buffet area is quite extensive as more than 100 traditional Malay and Southeast Asian dishes are served this time around.

Me being me, clueless as what to take first - so many tempting aroma and delicious sights of dishes take over my senses. 

So, to make it is easier for you to plan your moves, I'll segment the dishes according to these segments.

Breakfasting Delights

The best way to break one's fast is to take one or a few dates first. There is a great selection dates available here. And just beside it, a beautiful array of local kuehs and fresh cut fruits for you to choose from. 

Seafood on Ice

If seafood is your poison, there's plenty here. And they are fresh! The likes of Fresh Live Oysters, Crab, Black Mussels, Prawns and Scallops will be served together with flavorful dips to enhance your sense of taste. 

 

The Thai Section

Are you missing traveling to Bangkok just like me? Indulge your cravings with the Thai food selection such as Hor Mok (Thai Curried Fish), Gai Hor Bai Toey (Marinated chicken wrapped in pandan leave), Yam Mamuang, Som Tham and so much more.

Rojak

If you are a Malaysian, you'll love this section as there are Rojak Buah, Rojak Sotong Kangkung, Rojak Singapore, Rojak Pasembur and Gado Gado. Have your choice of rojak to your heart content here. 

7 Kawah Waklan

A must visit and taste is the 7 Kawah Waklan - specially made for you by Waklan. There are varieties of Lauk Kawah served with an aromatic flavoured rice together with Ulam Ulaman and Sambal Belacan. The spread will be rotated daily so that there’s something different each time you visit.
