Black Adam [Movie Review] | The hype around this particular movie was quite high, and me being a superheroes movie lover, it is a much watch for me.

But, it is really that good?

• Dwayne once asked his fans should he play Shazam or Black Adam and the fans chose the latter.
  
• Originally, Black Adam was to appear in Shazam but later decided to debut in his own film. There were also plan for Black Adam to appear in The Suicide Squad (2021) but was scraped when James Gunn took over.
  
• Originally the movie was rated R due to gruesome death scenes. These scenese were cut so that it could receive the more commercially viable PG-13 rating.

The movie starts with narration about a revolution started by a little boy against the king of Kahndaq, Ahk-Ton. King Ahk-Ton has created the Crown of Sabbac, which gives the wearer great power. The young boy was granted the powers of Shazam by the Council of Wizards, transforming him into a hero and allegedly killed the King and ended his reign. 

In current days, Kahndaq is oppressed by the Intergang. Adriana, an archeologist, tries to locate the Crown of Sabbac along with her brother, Karim and their colleagues, Samir and Ishmael. 

When they finally finds the crown, the Intergang ambushes them. She reads the incantation on the crown, believing that it will awaken the Kahndaq's hero. The incantation awakens Teth-Adam who slaughters most of the Intergang. 

This incident alerts Awanda Waller, who contact Justice Society of America (JSA) that includes Hawkman, Doctor Fate, Cyclone and Atom Smasher to capture Teth-Adam. JSA manages to stop Adam from causing further destruction to Kahndaq. JSA informs Adriana that Teth-Adam is in fact a madman who was imprisoned and not the saviour that she thought he was. 

Ishmael reveals himself as the Intergang's leader and chases Adriana's son, Amon who has stolen the crown. Then he reveals himself as the last descendant of King Ahk-Ton and he wants to use the crown to rule the world. He manages to capture Amon and Adriana is willing to trade the crown for her son's life. 

As soon as he receives the crown, he shoots Amon. In his bid to save Amon. Adam loses control and destroys his hiding place, killing Ishmail on the spot. He hides in the ruins of Ahk-Ton's palace where he confides to Hawkman that the legend is incorrect. It was Hurut, his son that was bestowed with the Shazam's power and became the hero. Knowing that Hurut was invincible, King Ahk-Ton instructed assassins to kill his family instead. Hurut gave his power to Adam to save him, which leaves Hurut defenseless and the assassins took the opportunity to kill Hurut. Enraged, Adam ran amuk and destroyed the King's palace along with its' residents. His action caused the Council of Wizards to imprison him. 

Depressed, Adam turns himself in and the JSA takes him to black site. Then the JSA realizes that Ishmael has been playing them all along. He intentionally made Adam killed him while he was wearing the crown so that he could be reborn as the demon Sabbac.

When Sabbac returns, who will deal with him? 

MY REVIEW

Plot: 4.4/ 5.0 It was a great movie, if the script is not too draggy. My friends and I thought the script was too long and winding. The plot is beautifully done for character building.

Cast: 4.6/ 5.0 Good job in casting as everyone delivered.

Will I Watch It Again: Yes, I actually don't mind watching it again.
