Mangkujiwo 2 [Movie Review] | I came across this movie when I went to watch horror films last week.

The poster looks interesting and gets me intrigued. Since this is the sequel, I go and watch the first one online.

The movie relates closely to the first one. So, in order to understand this one, one has to watch the first installment first. 

After the death of Cokrokusumo, Uma keeps on looking for answers about her past life and her link with Kuntilanak. 

She now lives with Romo. And Rimba comes in from Jakarta, working as a photographer for Maureen and Jeneral Amperawan. Jeneral Amperawan wants Maureen, but Maureen likes Rimba, who has been her friend since they were younger.

Rimba likes Uma and Uma likes Rimba back.

Rimba keeps on dreaming about rats, snakes and scorpions. Uma thinks that there are mystical dangers approaching Rimba, but Rimba thinks nothing of it.

Rimba wants to find who is the killer of his father. When Uma hears that his father was killed in a cinema, she somehow gets the flashes of the carnage in her dreams. 

Romo, Karmila and Nyi Kenanga keeps on using Uma and Kunti to strengthen their Mangkujiwo empire. 

Will Rimba unlocks the mystery of her father's death? Will Uma uncovers her real history?

MY REVIEW

Plot: 3.5/ 5.0 This is not the kind of horror movie with lots of jump-scare. It is such a slow burn and you'll get the answer at the very end of the movie. 

I watched the first one and it was so slow, I actually have to rewatch the movie as I fell asleep in the middle of watching it. The second one is almost the same, except now it has a love interest in it. 

Cast: 4.3/ 5.0 The actors gave believable performance. 

Will I Watch It Again: Sadly, this is the last time I will watch this movie.
