Iblis Dalam Darah Sets To Haunt Malaysian Theatres | Are you in the mood for a horror movie?
This May, Malaysian theatres will be spooked by the Indonesian horror movie Iblis Dalam Darah. The movie, directed by Yannie Sukarya, is about demons who can take control of people through their bloodstream and force them to commit awful things.

SYNOPSIS
In Iblis Dalam Darah, a little girl named Haruni suffers from supernatural hauntings. Haruni, who is constantly in pain, tries to harm both herself and others. Haruni has actually been possessed by a demon, which she is unaware of.
Hanum, Haruni's younger brother, has glaucoma, which affects his vision. Hanum's attending physician, Ahmad, becomes aware of Haruni's tale and is sympathetic to her plight. Dr. Ahmad decides to help Haruni because he has experience with Islamic therapies. However, his mission ends up exposing the mystifying threats that surround Haruni one by one.
Dr. Ahmad begins looking into the origin of Haruni's phantom illnesses with the assistance of a neighbourhood police officer named Faisal. Can they deliver Haruni from the evil's grasp?

Details about Iblis Dalam Darah
Iblis Dalam Darah, which caters to the Malaysian audience's love of the horror genre, is certain to give moviegoers a bloody good fright with its many spine-chilling jumpscares. Yannie Sukarya, the director, explains: "I wanted to make a horror movie that might happen in real life. Through our blood, demons and the Devil can inhabit humans without our knowledge and fully control their behaviour. I felt very motivated to make a movie out of this story.
Both established names in the Indonesian horror film industry, Helroad Productions and Helfi Kardit, created Iblis Dalam Darah. In the eerie forests of Mount Salak, an eroded volcano in West Java, Indonesia, scenes of the film were shot at a real abandoned house.
"We chose this place because we wanted a true representation of what it could be like to live in a financially struggling town, as they frequently deal with the most difficult issues with no solution. We also shot several shots along the river and in the caverns in addition to the deserted settlements and forests of Mount Salak," continues Helfi.
The movie stars a star-studded cast of Indonesian acting prowess, including Ryaas Randa, Michelle Joan, Cut Ashifa, and Layla Majenun, while balancing aspects of horror and religion. Yannie commented on the casting decisions and claimed Ryaas was given the lead due to his crisp and clear recitation of the al-Quran.

We really had a few prospective leads for the movie right away, but we were still looking for someone with a lovely voice and the ability to recite the Qur'an like the character. We ultimately chose Ryaas (Randa) for this reason. We hope the cast will enthral the public the same way they enthralled us because they all gave their A-game to the movie, says Yannie.
Ryaas was incredibly excited to be a part of Iblis Dalam Darah when questioned about it. Ryaas, a former participant in D'Academy, one of Indonesia's most popular singing talent shows, acknowledged that he was first concerned about portraying the main character accurately.
"There were instances in the movie where I had to authoritatively read the holy verses of Ruqyah (a therapeutic technique based on the Quran). I was first concerned that I wouldn't be able to perform as well. However, I was able to pull it off, and I'm extremely happy with how I did. Praise be to God," adds Ryaas.
The movie Iblis Dalam Darah premieres in theatres on May 18, 2023. Please follow mm2 Entertainment Malaysia's official Facebook and Instagram accounts for additional details on the most recent movies arriving in Malaysian theatres.
