• Based on a legend told by fishermen around Baja California about a monstrous shark that is believed to have killed thousands of fishermen and hundreds of whales. 

Paul takes his family on a trip to Bahia Azul. He is there to inspect an old oil rig, so why not bring his entire family along and discover their roots too.

The coastal town seems deserted when they arrives. Not to dampen the family's holiday spirit, Paul promises them a great holiday, as soon as he returns from the oil rig. 

He leaves on a boat but the boatman only sends him halfway and lets him steers his own boat for the rest of the way to the oil rig.

The family, his wife and two kids that were left at the cafe was harassed by some local men. The wife, Ines, tells the men to not disturb them and erupts into a fight. Ines brings the kids to the pier where she pays another boatman to bring them to the oil rig. 

When Paul arrives at the rig, the rig was almost deserted, except for two guys. The guys tell him that the rig has been attacked by a deep sea monster, to which Paul laughs at. Not soon after, his family arrives. The two guys keeps on banging on the metal rails and makes noises until the family safely disembarks on the rig. The boat drives away in a hurry, before a huge shark attacks it.

Now the whole family knows why no one wants to go to the rig. 

It seems that the shark has been attacking the rig for quite some time. As per the locals belief, the shark is known as the Black Demon that rises from the ocean depth to protect its territory. 

How will Paul safe his family and the rig workers against a monster so huge and old as time?

MY REVIEW

Plot: 4.0/ 5.0 No new recipe here. Men against a giant. Just different location and tie it with a local legend. 

The monster rarely shows itself. 

Cast: 4.6/ 5.0 The actors were great - their expression and delivery were great!

Will I Watch It Again: Yes, but not in a must-watch list.
