The Flash [Movie Review]

The Flash [Movie Review] | I watched The Flashpoint Paradox before so I am so intrigued to see how it turns out on a live version. 

I loved the animation one, hope the live ones satisfy me too.

• The film was announced in 2014 and released in 2023. 
• Michael Keaton is 71 during the filming, making him the oldest Batman in live-action film.  
• Ben Affleck is the only one who played Bruce Wayne/ Batman four times in films. And he is the only Batman who never have a standalone movie.
• There is one post-credits scene.  

Barry lives his daily life as uneventful as it could be. One ordinary day, he goes to help stop a bank robbery in Gotham City when Batman and Wonder Woman were not around.

He revisits his old home there, relives the memory growing up with his now imprisoned father and late mother there. Overcome by his emotions, he accidentally uses his speed force to travel back in time, before his mother's death. He decides to somehow stop his mother's death, without meeting his younger self of any of his family member while doing so. He manages to prevent his mother's death. He travels back to the present day but another speedster knocks him out from the Speed Force, with him ends up in 2013, where his mother still lives. 

Accidentally, he meets with his 2013-self and realises that the day is actually the exact day when he obtains his speed power. He tries to recreate the incident that gave him power. Instead, the incident takes his speed power and transfers it to the 2013-Barry. 

Then General Zod invades Earth. 

The now-powerless Barry tries to train the 2013-Barry and assembles the Justice League to fight General Zod. He fails as there is no Wonder Woman, Cyborg or Aquaman in this timeline. 

Both Barrys enter Wayne Manor to find Batman, instead they meet with a retired Batman. After a long persuasion, Batman agrees to find Kal-El who is currently locked up in Siberia. 

Instead of finding Kal-El, they find Kara, Kal-El's cousin who was supposed to safeguard Kal-El during their escape from Krypton. 

Upon saving Kara, they try to recreate the power-giving incident. When the recreation fails and almost kills Barry, Zara takes Barry into the storm and let him get struck by lightning, thus gives Barry his speed power. 

Combining their powers, the group fights General Zod and his army. Kara learns that Zod kills the infant Kal-El during the escape which anger Kara. During the fight, Kara learns that she holds the Codex to recreate the super soldier that Zod wants. Zod manages to outbest and kill Kara during the fight and he escapes with the Codex. 

Batman sacrifices himself by flying his ship onto a Krytonian ship.

The two Barrys now attempts to save everyone - Kara and Batman by traveling back in time. Barry realises that no matter what they do, they will fail to save the duo. But the 2013-Barry is persistent to save them, he keeps on traveling back to different scenarios to save the duo, but sill failing. 

Then Barry realises that the dark speedster is actually 2013-Barry, who never lets anyone stop him from traveling through time to different timelines. And he kills anyone who tries to stop him.

How will Barry stop the two Barrys - the dark speedster and 2013-Barry from keep on changing the timeline and then return his normal timeline?

MY REVIEW

Plot: 4.7/ 5.0. So many timelines, one blink and you'll be lost. An interesting plot and almost the same as the Flashpoint Paradox. 

Love that so many Batmans are featured in this one. I wish that they bring the Batgirl too. 

Cast: 4.6/ 5.0 Love the whole cast. Kara is beautiful. 

Will I Watch It Again: Yes, I love this one, despite some saying that it is confusing.
