Transformers: Rise of the Beasts [Movie Review] | Yes, again and again I would claim that Beast Wars is the best Transformers episodes. So, of course it is a must watch for me when Transformers: The Rise of the Beasts air.

• Paramount announced that this is the first of the 3 new installments. Horay! 
• The first Transformers film that has no Decepticons. Instead, the movie introduces the Terrorcons and the Maximals. 

Maximals are under attack by Unicron, who sent his strongest army, Scourge, Terrorcons and Predacons to seek the Transwarp Key and claim their world. Unicron wants to use the key to invade other worlds so that he can be the supreme ruler. 

Apeling, the Maximals leader sacrifice himself so that Optimus Primal and other Maximals could escape the planet along with the key. The Maximals run off with the key in an escape pod to Earth.

In 1994, Noah is an ex-military who lives in Brooklyn and is struggling to make ends meet. He lives with his mother and his ailing brother, who needs cash for his treatment. After failing another job interview, he finally seeks his friend, Reek and agrees to steal a car.

It turns out that the car is Mirage, an Autobot.

At about the same time, Elena, who is an intern at a museum is studying the origin on a newly arrived artifact that is on unknown origin. When the artifact cracks, it reveals the Transwarp Key inside it and releases an energy pulse that can only be seen by Transformers. Optimus Prime sees the energy and summons the other Autobots to meet him, as the key is their way home. 

Mirage, upon hearing the summon, quickly drives away from the garage, along with Noah inside it. This leads to a chase and run drama along the highway and bridge, but Mirage uses its power to win over the cops and drives straight to their meeting point.

Of course, Noah is terrifed to learn that Mirage is a Transformers robot. But imagine his surprise to see more vehicles at the meeting place. Mirage managed to calm Optimus Prime down by convincing him that they need human to steal the key and he promises Noah that he could get a lot of money after he steals the key and lets Noah sells him as a car, any model that he wants and use the money for his brother's treatment. 

Noah agrees and they drives to the museum where Elena works. 

At the same time, the Terrorcons detect the signal and arrive On Earth, also heading towards the museum.

Noah encounters Elena while trying to retrieve the key. Elena mistakens Noah as a thief and fights him.

Not soon after, Terrorcons arrive and start shooting the human. The Autobots come to the rescue. A fight ensues and the Autobots is at the losing end, if not for Airazor's help. Scourge kills Bumblebee during the fight and takes the key away.

But sadly, the Maximals have taken extra precaution about the matter and actually broken the key into two, another piece safely hidden in a place that even Airazor has no knowledge of. 

Airazor explains to the Autobots that the Maximals arrived on Earths thousands of years earlier and have been living with human peacefully, hiding in plain sight.

Optimus Prime insist on getting the key so the Autobots could return home. Noah has other plan for the key.

Based on Elena's theory, the group locates the key is hidden - in a hidden temple in Peru. The group travels to Peru in Stratosphere, another Autobot and meets with Wheeljack, an Autobot that lives in Peru. The group managed to find the temple but the key is no longer there. 

The Terrorcons attack the group again and Airazor leads the group to a nearby jungle. During the fight with Scourge, Airazor is corrupted by Unicron's energy shot by Scourge. 

The group runs deep into the jungle, where they meet the other Maximals - Optimus Primal (now the leader of Maximals), Rhinox and Cheetor. Primal explains that he has entrusted the key to a human tribe there.

Airazor is completely overtaken by the corruption and takes the key to Scourge. Primal has to kill Airazor as she is completely taken by the corruption and endangers others.

Scourge combines the two keys and opens a portal through which Unicron will arrive. 

How will Noah save the world? 

Can the Autobots and the Maximals return to their planet? 

Or will Unicron have its day and devour another planet on its way to become the supreme ruler?

MY REVIEW

Plot: 4.97/ 5.0 I am biased because I love Transformers, especially Beast Wars. And I am loving this one especially as there are much more screen time for the Transformers and not focusing on the human.

The story line is predictable, of course. Prime as usual did the mistakes and everyone else has to clean his mess. 

Primal is grand here - wise and powerful as he is in the animation. 

Cast: 4.8/ 5.0 Especially in love with Airazor, voiced by Michelle Yeah and Arcee, voiced by Mischaela. 

Will I Watch It Again: OF COURSE. All of them. And I am rewatching the Beast Wars series at the moment too.
