Oppenheimer [Movie Review] | Truth be told, Oppenheimer is not the type of movie that I would watch. But due to peer pressure, I went along with my friends, as they joined me for previous movies before this.
The worst that could happen is I fall asleep throughout the 3-hour movie, right?

When he starts teaching in University of California, he opens a quantum physics lecture and it it becomes popular. There he meets with a few strong and clourful characters, including his secret lover and his future wife too.
He then recruited by General Leslie to lead the Manhattan Project, to develop an atomic bomb. The development becomes an obsession to him as he wants to beat the Nazis in building the bomb. With Leslie, both gathers a scientific team in Los Alamos, New Mexico - a new city built just to house the team and their family, away from everyone else.
When Germany surrenders in WWII, some team members starts doubting the importance of the bomb development. The team continues and the US President Truman decided to drop the bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, forcing Japan to surrender.
Now, Oppenheimer is known to the world as 'the father of the atomic bomb'.
Filled with anxiety, he protests against further development of future nuclear bombs development. One of his team members suggests to build hydrogen bomb, to which he is steadfastly stand against.
He then meets with Lewis Strauss, who resents him for belittling his concerns. He is seemingly close and friendly with Oppenheimer, or is he?
Who or what is the cause of Oppenheimer's downfall?
MY REVIEW
Plot: 4.5/ 5.0 Amazingly, I stayed awake throughout the movie. It was beautifully structured that the scenes captured the best and tragic moments of his life, without dwelling too long on unnecessary scenes.
In the end, you'll learn to never believe news/ stories at its face value.
Cast: 4.8/ 5.0 A group of A-listers. And I was half-expecting to see Julia Roberts walk around in the movie too. And of course, everyone delivered!
Will I Watch It Again: It was a great movie, but I will not watch it again. Too long.
