The Marvels [Movie Review] | The Marvels is in the cinema y'all. Of course I have to watch it. 

I read mixed reviews online, so, I might as well watch and judge it for myself, right?

• This is Iman's first feature film role. It is also the first MCU film to feature a Muslim hero. And Nia DeCosta is the first black woman to direct a Marvel Studios movie. 
• This is the 33rd film in Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). And it is Samuel's 15th MCU project, so far. It was filmed simultaneously with Thor: Love and Thunder and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. 

Planet Hala, the home of the Kree species is now barren as it loses its air, water and sunlight due to the civil war.

Dar-Benn, the newly appointed Kree leader, is determined to bring Hala back to its glorious days. She manages to retrieve one of the Quantum Bands, and the other one is the one that Kamala Khan aka Ms Marvel wears. She pairs the band with her staff to tear apart a jump point in space that results in space anomaly. 

The anomaly is detected by NIck Fury who currently resides in a SABER space station. He instructs Captain Marvel to investigate the anomaly. He also calls on Monica Rambeau to also check on the anomaly. 

Somehow, when Monica touches the anomaly, she, Captain Marvel and Ms Marvel switch places. The switch happens every time either one of them uses their powers. The switch happens quite a lot and they surmise that somehow the anomaly causes their powers to entangle.

The three heads to planet Tarnax to resolve their issues. Dar-Benn also goes there, to siphons Tarnax's atmosphere into Hala in her bid to restore Hala's air. 

Now Captain Marvel knows the intention of Dar-Benn, she brings the trio to the planet Aladna as she figures that Dar-Benn will try to draw Aladna's ocean water into Hala. Landing at Aladna, Monica and Ms Marvel was surprised that Captain Marvel is actually married to Prince Yan, the ruler of Aladna and their communication is done via singing. 

The trio, along with Aladna's military powers fight Dar-Benn's army when she arrives and tries to siphon the ocean water. 

The very last item that Dar-Benn will steal is Earth's Sun. And the Marvels, as Ms Marvel named the trio, will fight to hinder Dar-Benn's plot.

Will Hala become whole again? Can The Marvels dampen the plot?

MY REVIEW

Plot: 4.0/ 5.0 Well, this is one pretty light to my liking. I was expecting a bit more serious action.

It is fun to watch, but do not expect too much. 

Cast: 4.7/ 5.0 Everybody delivered, rather beautifully. 

Will I Watch It Again: I am biased, so I think I might be watching it again.
