Lift [Movie Review] | The movie just landed on Netflix. And I am intrigued to see how will Kevin Hart fairs in a serious movie.

• The scene in Venice used 400 extras to create the Carnival surrounding.
• Bears similarities with The Italian Job where it began in Venice with a boat chase. 

The movie starts with a fake kidnapping of a renowned NFT artist, N8 in Venice. Agent Abby Gladwell of Interpol was to capture Cyrus and his crew, to which she failed miserably as her team's attention was misdirected to the auction event in Venice. Cyrus and his team managed to kidnap N8 in Venice and steal a Van Gogh painting in London in one move. 

Abby, not wanting to fail, managed to capture Delton, a member of Cyrus' crew and get information about his other crew. She managed to capture Luke and Magnus.

However, Abby's superior, Commander Huxley wants Abby to force Cryus and his crew to help Interpol capture Lars Jorgenson, a terrorist mastermind who is about to transfer his USD500 million worth of gold to pay Leviathon, a hacking group. The transfer is to happen in Zurich and Lars is to transfer the gold from London via a commercial airliner. Leviathon is to stage terrorist attack in Europe, allowing Lars to manipulate stock and gain billions. 

Cyrus insists that the crew will only help Interpol if Abby is joining the crew during the mission, to which Huxley agrees, against Abby's will. 

The crew determines that they will only be able to steal the gold while the airliner is mid-air. 

The crew work their idea and everything seems to be working according to plan, until the very last second when Lars' henchmen managed to outdo Cyrus and his crew. The henchmen directs Cyrus to fly their jet to Lars' villa.

En route, Huxley orders NATO to shoot down the jet to ensure that the gold will never reach Lars. With henchmen on their toes, Cyrus and his crew's lives are at stake.

Can the crew hinders the world from a catastrophe?

MY REVIEW

Plot: 3.6/ 5.0 Truhfully, no new idea here. Just some great ideas from past movies put together with the likes of the Ocean's series (especially from the Ocean's Eight). The most similar woule be The Italian Job. 

I would say stealing mid-air with a jet that has the state-of-art technologies is quite refreshing.

Cast: 4.2/ 5.0 Kudos to Kevin. He can act in a serious movie. The others are great too in their delivery. 

Will I Watch It Again: Yes, I don't mind watching it again.
