Twisters [Movie Review] | I remember watching the 1996 version and freaking loved that movie. 

So, when this one drops, I was thinking - why remake a good movie? Will this one live up to its predecessor?

• Kate says 'I'm not back!' as a nod to Bill Paxton's character in the 1996 Twister.
• Glen Powell's parents also appear in the movie, as they always do in all his movies since Spy Kids 3-D (2003). 
• Originally to be shot in Los Angeles, the film was hot on location in Oklahoma, as was Twister 1996. 

Kate, along with her mates - Javi, Addy, Praveen and her boyfriend, Jeb chases after tornado to try her formula to reduce its intensity and secure a research funding. On one mission, a tornado suddenly escalates into an AF5 and kills Addy, Praveen and Jeb.

EF refers to the Enhanced Fujita Scale that ranges from EF0 tornadoes with winds of 65 to 85 miles an hour, to EF5 tornadoes with winds exceeding 200 miles an hour

Five years later, Kate now works with NOAA in New York. Javi, who works with Storm Par, invites her to test a new and elevated radar system than the one that they used 5 years back. She rejected the invitation first but later decided to give it a one-week try after seeing a news report of a tornado's aftermath. She meet with Javi's partner, Scott and another storm chaser group that is popular on YouTue, Tyler Owens and his own merry-band. 

Kate freezes on her first tornado chase, prevents her from assisting Javi. Later, while assisting the residents where the tornado hits, she learns that Tyler's team is assisting the victims via the sales of their merchandise, while Storm Par is making profit by acquiring lands that were tornado stricken. 

While enjoying a rodeo show, another tornado strikes. Kate and Tyler help people to shelter in a motel pool. Afterward, Kate retreats to her mother's farm after a fight with Javi. Tyler visits and discovers Kate's research notes. After much coaxing by Tyler, Kate agrees to retry her formula. Combining her formula and data from Javi, Kate is putting her hope on her latest formula. 

Will her latest formula succeeds in 'strangling' the tornado?

MY REVIEW

What I Like:

• This one has relation to the 1996 film. A total stand alone.
• Truthfully, I cried during one of the last scenes when the tornado strikes and the whole town is helping each other to survive. 

What I Don't Like:

• Dare I say NONE? 

Will I Watch It Again: Yes, I would.
