Blink Twice [Movie Review] | Currently, my mood is in a turmoil due to work thingy - office politics and all. 

As always, to heal myself, I went to watch movies. And I am shocked that there is this movie - Blink Twice. I have never came across the trailer before and to see Channing Tatum as one of the cast, I quickly purchased the ticket to watch it.

Frida, an animal-themed nail artist and cocktail waitress, works an exclusive event with her best friend and roommate, Jess. She is kinda obsessed with Slater King, a billionaire tech mogul, whom complemented her nails while she was working his party last year. And that night, both her and Jess will be working the same party again and Frida is determined that she will talk to Slater again. To add excitement to the evening, Frida sneaks in two dresses so she and Jess can explore the event as guests once their shift is over. During the event, Frida trips and falls, and Slater helps her up. They quickly hit it off, leading Slater to invite Frida and Jess to join him and his friends on a vacation to his private island. A dream comes true for Frida, to which she immediately agrees to!

Upon arrival, Slater's assistant, Stacy, confiscates their phones. The group includes Slater’s friends and business partners—photographer Vic, private chef Cody, DJ Tom, and graduate Lucas—along with three other female guests, Sarah, Camilla, and Heather. The women are treated to lavish accommodations, luxurious gift bags filled with perfume, gourmet meals, and potent hallucinogenic drugs provided by Vic.

Tensions arise as Frida clashes with Sarah over Slater’s attention, and Jess begins noticing lapses in her memory. Frida also becomes suspicious when she sees that the island's workers all have matching snake tattoos. Slater explains they are there to cull wild snakes, but Frida’s unease grows, especially after strange encounters with a maid who calls her "Red Rabbit" and seems to recognize her.

Slater’s therapist, Rich, makes a brief visit to the island, and Frida recalls meeting him at the gala, where he jokingly told her to "blink twice if you're in danger." After Rich leaves, Slater gives him a red gift bag. During a night of heavy partying, Jess is bitten by a snake and, frightened, tells Frida she wants to leave the island. Frida dismisses her concerns, but the next day, Jess goes missing. No one seems to notice except Frida, who grows increasingly alarmed.

While the men are on a fishing trip, Frida discovers a room filled with identical red gift bags. A maid tricks her into drinking snake venom, which triggers fragmented memories. Frida realizes that a local flower, used in their food and perfume, is capable of wiping memories. She convinces Sarah to drink the venom, which acts as an antidote, restoring her memory.

As the men return, Frida and Sarah become paranoid, sensing that something terrible has happened. They trick Camilla, Heather, and Stacy into drinking snake venom mixed with tequila to restore their memories. Frida sneaks into Slater’s office to retrieve their phones, but all are out of juice and has no phone coverage. Hiding from Slater, her full memories return, revealing the horrifying truth: the men have been drugging and sexually assaulting the women, erasing their memories each night. Jess’s memories didn’t fully erase due to the snake venom, so the men killed her.

Is being forgetful really a bliss to all? Can Frida regain all her memories and can she return to being herself soon?

MY REVIEW

What I Like:  

• Whoa. Channing and Christian are really assholes in the movie. I would never thought that both of them are capable of being so. 
• A good movie to watch. 
• A similar feeling and vibe while watching Ready or Not and The invitation, but more cruel.
• I would also encourage everyone to be extra careful with invitations such as this as nowadays, horrendous crimes happen a lot! Be extra careful everyone.

What I Don't Like:

• None

Will I Watch It Again: Yes, I would.
