• This is the first animated Transformers movie to hit theaters in 38 years, following The Transformers: The Movie from 1986. And it receives "Certified Fresh" score on Rotten Tomatoes.

On Cybertron, Energon miner Orion Pax sneaks into an archive to watch a recording about the legendary first thirteen Primes. These ancient leaders were said to have perished long ago in a war with the alien Quintessons, during which the powerful Matrix of Leadership was lost. Orion is caught by security but rescued by his best friend, D-16. 

Meanwhile, Cybertron’s leader, Sentinel Prime, speaks about the ongoing struggle with the Quintessons and the importance of finding the Matrix. Without it, the planet's Energon rivers have dried up, endangering Cybertron’s survival.

After an explosion in the mines traps Jazz, Orion and D-16 attempt a rescue, but their efforts cause a cave-in, leading to Elita-1’s dismissal from her job. Later, Orion and D-16 enter the Iacon 5000 race in secret, but they lose, knock out a security guard in the chaos, and are arrested. They are sent to a smelting area in Sublevel 50, where they meet B-127. While there, they discover a chip containing a message from Alpha Trion, one of the lost Primes, which reveals his location. The group sneaks aboard a train to the planet's surface, accidentally bringing Elita along, and eventually finds Alpha Trion in a cavern, surrounded by the fallen Primes' corpses.

Trion reveals that Sentinel betrayed the Primes, making a deal with the Quintessons for control of most of Iacon's Energon. He also secretly removed bots’ transformation cogs, crippling Cybertron's population. Trion gives Orion and his team the fallen Primes' cogs, enabling them to transform. However, Sentinel’s soldiers arrive, and Trion sacrifices himself to allow Orion and the others to escape.

Determined to expose Sentinel’s treachery, Orion’s group is soon captured by the High Guard, a former military force rebelling against Sentinel. D-16 defeats their leader, Starscream, in combat and takes command. But in the battle that follows with Sentinel’s forces, Orion is buried under debris, and D-16, B-127, and Starscream are captured.

Encouraged by Elita, Orion rallies the remaining High Guard members, while D-16 is tortured by Sentinel and learns more about Megatronus Prime, whose transformation cog Sentinel had stolen. Orion frees D-16, but a power struggle ensues. D-16, horrified after accidentally shooting Orion, ultimately decides that Orion stands in his way and lets him fall into Cybertron’s core. D-16 then kills Sentinel, renames himself Megatron, and declares himself Cybertron’s new ruler.

What I Like:  

• Yeay to the movie. I love the story line, the plot and the simplicity in delivering it. More please.  

What I Don't Like:

• Too short?

Will I Watch It Again: Yes, I would.
