Unknown [Movie Review] | I watched the movie on Netflix. At first I thought that this is Liam's latest movie, only to realise that it was released way back in 2011. 

Well, hopefully this oldie is a goodie.

Martin and Liz, his wife arrive in Berlin for a biotechnology summit. While Liz is checking in at the hotel, Martin realizes he left his briefcase at the airport and takes a taxi to retrieve it. However, the taxi crashes into the Spree river, and Martin is knocked unconscious. The driver, Gina, rescues him, but Martin remains in a coma for four days. When he comes to, his memory is a bit foggy but he remembers his wife. 

When he returns to the hotel, Martin finds Liz with another man claiming to be her husband. Liz insists she doesn’t know him, leaving Martin confused and desperate to prove his identity. His efforts fail, including a visit to Professor Bressler’s office, where another "Dr. Harris" has already assumed his identity. Overwhelmed, Martin collapses and wakes up in the hospital again, only to be targeted by assassins.

He manages to evade the assassins and seeks the help of former Stasi agent, Ernst Jürgen. He also tracks down Gina, the taxi driver, and persuades her to assist him. Ernst uncovers a connection between Martin's identity theft and a secret project linked to a Saudi prince attending the summit. Meanwhile, Martin and Gina narrowly escape an attack by terrorists.

As Martin pieces together clues, he learns from Liz that he left his briefcase at the airport. Ernst, after uncovering more about the conspiracy, is killed by Martin’s colleague Rodney Cole, a member of the same terrorist group, Section 15.

Will Martin uncovers his real identity?

MY REVIEW

What I Like:  

  • It has a beautiful plot twist in it.  
  • The cast is great.   

What I Don't Like:

  • Somehow, the plot seems vaguely familiar. 

Will I Watch It Again: Yes, I would.
