Salem's Lot [Movie Review] | I get super excited when I learnt that James Wan is producing the movie.
And also because I love anything Stephen King - but not many are successful whenever translated onto the silver screen. Will this one make it through?

- Announced in 2019, it was filmed in 2021 with some scenes reshot in 2022. The release was delayed a few times.
- This marks the second feature film adaptation of the novel. The novel was previously adapted for television with Tobe Hooper's 1979 miniseries, a 2004 remake, and a 1987 theatrical sequel, A Return to Salem's Lot.
- In April 2019, it was announced that horror master James Wan, known for The Conjuring and Aquaman, would produce a new adaptation of Stephen King’s Salem's Lot with New Line Cinema. Wan is also set to produce a film adaptation of King's The Tommyknockers.
The movie starts with Richard Straker instructing a local to carefully transfer a unique and old box to his newly purchased Marsten House.
Ben Mears, a novelist, returns to his hometown of Jerusalem's Lot, Maine, hoping to draw inspiration from the eerie Marsten House for his next novel. Haunted by a disturbing childhood encounter with a ghost in the mansion, Ben befriends locals, Matt Burke and Susan Norton.
Soon after, things take a dark turn when a young Ralphie Glick goes missing, and his brother Danny dies, only to return as the town’s first vampire, infecting others.
Turns out that the ancient vampire Barlow that arrives inside the old box, gradually converts several residents, creating an undead army within the town. Danny spreads vampirism to others, adding numbers to the undead army.
Ben, Susan, Matt, and a few others—Doctor Cody, Father Callahan, and a young Mark Petrie, who had his own terrifying encounter with Danny—band together to confront the growing evil.
However, Susan is captured and turned by Barlow, forcing Ben to stake her. The situation escalates as Barlow captures Mark, and a confrontation between Barlow and Father Callahan ends in defeat for the priest, who is forced to drink Barlow’s blood and cast out from his own church.
Barlow's vampires claim more victims, leaving only Ben and Mark.
Will they be able to escape the Salem's Lot?
