Smile 2 [Movie Review] | When I know that Smile 2 is coming and after watching the trailers, I am so looking forward to watching this.

So, here goes. Was it as good as the first?

Six days after witnessing Rose Cotter's suicide, ex-cop Joel tries to pass the Smile Entity’s curse by killing a criminal and making another witness the death. However, the intended witness dies in a shootout, leaving drug dealer Lewis Fregoli to inherit the curse. Now free, Joel flees but is fatally hit by a truck.

Meanwhile, in New York City, Grammy-winning pop star Skye Riley is preparing for her comeback tour after a terrible accident where her boyfriend died a year ago. Despite being under the watchful eye of her mother Elizabeth and her assistant Joshua, Skye hides a Vicodin addiction. One night, she sneaks out to buy drugs from Lewis and witnesses him violently kill himself while smiling. Terrified, Skye flees, too scared to call the police.

Soon, Skye starts seeing eerie smiles and hearing strange sounds. Her mental health unravels as hallucinations take over. Desperate, she reconnects with her estranged ex-best friend, Gemma, hoping that she will accompany her during her upcoming tour. Afterward, she receives a threatening text from an unknown number, warning her that she’s in danger.

At a charity event, Skye is humiliated when the teleprompter stalls, forcing her to speak off-script. Instead of uplifting the crowd, she overshares about her stressful life as a performer and the crowd starts feeling uneasy about her. From the crowd, she sees her deceased boyfriend, Paul, smiling and approaching her. Panicked, she accidentally injures an audience member.

She meets Morris, a former nurse tracking the entity, who explains the curse is passed to witnesses of the victim’s death. Morris suggests stopping Skye’s heart and resuscitating her to break the curse, but she flees after being recognized.

Later, Skye hallucinates her mother stabbing herself but realizes she was the one who attacked her. She escapes and meets Morris for the heart-stopping procedure, but the entity appears and mocks her. 

Will Skye ever escapes the curse?

MY REVIEW

What I Like:  

• Well, nothing new. Except that now they now how to end the curse. 
• Still as scary and so many jump scares and gory scenes. 

What I Don't Like:

• Nothing I would say.  

Will I Watch It Again: Yes, I would.
