Janji Darah [Movie Review] | This is another movie that we watched during the current outing.
I went in without any expectations, but as always, I will always be ready to be scared by Indonesian and Thai movies, as their ghosts are similar to ours in Malaysia.

- Based on the true story of a pregnant mother being terrorized by spirits, as experienced by Sentot Sahid himself.
The movie starts by showing Rayhan and Dinda, two small kids seemingly going ghost-hunting in an abandoned factory. Rayhan can see the spirits, whereas Dinda can only sense a presence. Now she wants to start seeing the spirits. She urges Rayhan to teach her. As he taught her, as soon as she could see the spirit, a menacing spirit came out of a well and ran after the two kids.
In the current days, Rayhan and Sheren are thrilled to be expecting their first child, one year into their marriage. But their joy quickly turns to dread as a supernatural force begins to threaten the safety of Sheren’s unborn baby. Sheren shares the disturbance with Rayhan but Rayhan advises her to ignore them. Desperate to protect her child, Sheren enlists the help of her friend and coworker, Tyas, to confront the terrifying presence.
Meanwhile, Rayhan is determined to uncover the source of the disturbances haunting his family. His search leads him to a connection with his late cousin, Dinda. Years before, both Rayhan and Dinda discovered they shared a sixth sense and made a solemn promise to always protect each other. Now, Rayhan fears that Dinda, though deceased, is somehow trying to hold him to that promise for reasons he may not easily be able to fulfil.
As days go by, Rayhan and Sheren must confront the haunting presence that threatens their growing family, while grappling with the complexity of a pact that reaches beyond the grave.
Can Rayhan uphold his part of the promise?
