The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim, Animation, Action, Fantasy, Rawlins GLAM, Rawlins Lifestyle, Movie Review by Rawlins

The movie takes place 183 years before the War of the Ring, revealing the tale of Hera, a spirited daughter of King Helm. Unlike the grand heroes of legend, her story is one of quiet bravery and sacrifice, destined to fade into the shadows of time.

She is known to be hard-headed and free spirit - unlike any other princess. She rides horse and give giant eagles food. She grows up with his two loving brothers - Haleth and Hama.

Comes Freca, a Dunlending lord, arriving at King Helm’s hall with his son Wulf. Freca scoffs at the news of Hera’s arranged marriage to a Gondorian lord and attempts to force a union between Wulf and Hera, scheming to claim Rohan’s throne. But Hera has no interest in Wulf or marriage.

Freca challenges King Helm - if he wins, Hera weds Wulf. Helm accidentally killing Freca in a single blow, earning him the name "Hammerhand." Enraged, Wulf swears vengeance and disappears.

Years later, Wulf returns as the High Lord of the Dunlendings, leading a rebel army from Isengard. Hera is kidnapped and taken to his stronghold but offers herself in marriage to stop his attack. Wulf refuses and as Rohan faces invasion, Hera is rescued and races to warn her people.

Meanwhile, King Helm rejects his nephew Frealaf’s plea to evacuate Edoras, believing him a coward. He dismisses Frealaf, never to enter his kingdom.

As Wulf's forces overwhelm Rohan, Hera leads the people to safety in the Hornburg, realizing her father’s army is doomed - Helm included. Helm’s sons are slain, and Rohan endures a bitter winter siege. Grief-stricken and wounded, Helm makes night raids on Wulf’s forces, killing with his bare hands before falling in battle, frozen standing in defiance outside the gates.

In a final act of courage, Hera dons a bride’s gown and challenges Wulf atop the siege tower. The distraction allows the Rohirrim to escape through a hidden passage. She defeats Wulf in combat but suffers a mortal wound before Frealaf arrives with reinforcements, scattering Wulf’s army. With her dying strength, Hera kills Wulf, ending the war.

Is this the beginning of the Hera's reign?
