- This is Cameron Diaz's first film since retiring in 2014, her last role being in Annie alongside Jamie Foxx. This is also her first Netflix gig.
Matt and Emily are operatives and partners on dangerous missions. Not only that, they are also expecting. On this particular mission, they were to steal the Industrial Control Systems (ICS), a device capable of controlling any electronic system—a treasure coveted by enemies worldwide. The heist was daring and successful, but the escape was anything but smooth. On a plane ride home, they discovered the crew was on the enemy's payroll. A harrowing fight erupted, forcing them to crash-land. Learning that Emily is expecting, both of them agrees to go into hiding. Abandoning their identities, Matt and Emily disappeared.
Fifteen years later, Matt and Emily, now married and raising two children, Leo and Alice, live a quiet life in Atlanta.
In one incident, while tracking down Alice, their teenage daughter to a nightclub, both of them get into a fight with some teenagers in the club. The incident was caught and posted online. The very bext day, Chuck, their superior when they were still on duty, arrives at their front door and tries to warn them, before he was shot. Realising that their spy identities are now exposed, Matt and Em flee the country with their children and head to England, where Matt had hidden the ICS at the manor of Emily’s estranged mother, Ginny, a former MI6 sniper and head of a private military firm.
Their arrival at Heathrow triggers chaos as Volka’s operatives and MI6—led by Emily’s ex, Baron—close in. After a daring escape and some shocking revelations to their children, they reach Ginny’s manor. The enemy raids the manor, and Chuck, who they taught was their protector, alive and vengeful, emerges as the mastermind. He abducts Leo and Alice, seeking revenge for his own fall from grace.
The family bands together, tracking Chuck to a high-stakes auction in London’s Tate Modern.
What lesson did the whole family learnt from the incident?
