Captain America: Brave New World [Movie Review] | I read mixed reviews about this one. Some loved it, and another half hated the movie.

Not the one to believe anything without seeing it myself, I went and watched the movie.

Five months into his presidency, Thaddeus sends Sam and Joaquin —now Captain America and Falcon—to Oaxaca, Mexico, to intercept stolen classified items. The mission succeeds, but Sidewinder, leader of the rogue Serpent Society, escapes. Torres embraces his new role, but Wilson worries they lack superpowers, unlike Steve Rogers. Seeking guidance, they train with Isaiah, a forgotten super soldier. Isaiah was once a glorified soldier before he was captured and imprisoned by Thaddeus. Now released, he teaches Sam and Joaquin but he still despises Thaddeus.

The President later invites Sam, along with Joaquin and Isaiah to a global summit at the White House, promising to discuss Avengers reform. There, he unveils the discovery of adamantium on “Celestial Island” and urges world leaders to regulate its use. But before diplomacy can begin, the song Mr. Blue plays, triggering mind-controlled agents—including Isaiah—to attack Ross. Security chief Ruth Bat-Seraph subdues them, but they recall nothing of the attack.

As Sam investigates, Sidewinder ambushes him but is captured. Joaquin traces a call to Camp Echo One, a black site where Thaddeus imprisoned Dr. Samuel Sterns—the former scientist exposed to Bruce Banner’s blood. It turns out Thaddeus secretly used Dr. Sterns to advance his political career, only to imprison him again when his usefulness ran out. Now, Dr. Sterns wants revenge. Using the song Mr. Blue, he manipulates minds, ignites international tensions and sets the stage for Ross’s downfall.

When Thaddeus and Japan’s Prime Minister rush to claim adamantium, Dr. Sterns controls two U.S. pilots to attack Japan’s fleet. Wilson and Torres intercept them, but Torres is critically wounded. Meanwhile, Dennis uncovers Ross’s secret—he’s been taking gamma-infused pills to stave off heart failure. Sterns kills Dunphy and surrenders, knowing the truth will ruin Ross. At a press conference, Sterns’s revelations push Ross over the edge—he hulks out, rampaging through the White House.

Can Captain America defeat the Red Hulk and save America from destruction?

MY REVIEW

What I Like:  

• I love the storyline and the one post-credit that lays the way for more superhero movies. I can't wait!

What I Don't Like:

• I think some scenes were unnecessary - kinda filler scenes just to make the movie longer.
• I can't help feeling that if some other actors were to play some of the key roles, the movie could have been better.

Will I Watch It Again: Yes.
