Warisan Serumpun, meaning Shared Heritage, embodies the deep cultural and culinary ties between Malaysia and Indonesia. Showcasing traditional flavors, live cooking stations and an immersive dining experience, it offers guests an authentic taste of Malay and Indonesian cuisine. The welcoming staff guided my friends and I to our table. Along the way to the table, my eyes were greeted with a beautifully set dining area adorned with traditional Malay and Indonesian motives, a testament to the rich heritage being celebrated.

In collaboration with renowned Chef Fikree, a master of authentic Indonesian flavors, and the hotel's own Chef Ahmad Mahamod, the visionary behind Table Talk, Dorsett Hartamas Kuala Lumpur bring you a menu that beautifully blends the best of Malaysian and Indonesian cuisine. The tantalizing aroma of freshly grilled satay and Ikan Bakar wafted through the air from the live cooking stations, igniting my appetite. As per my usual MO, I would always go directly to the dessert and kuih-muih table, as I know people will gather at the main dishes first. I went directly to take items from the Canai Corner and Goreng-Goreng Stall. The steaming Roti John, Samosa and Begedil really hit the spot - I was literally saving my tummy for the meal! 

One of the highlights of the evening was the live cooking stations. Watching the chefs expertly prepare fresh Roti Canai and Murtabak at the Canai Corner was a delightful experience, and the soft, flaky layers paired beautifully with rich, savory curries. At the Goreng-Goreng stall, the crunch of freshly fried Pisang Goreng and Cucur added a delightful contrast to the rest of the meal.

Moving on, I explored the array of traditional appetizers and mains. I gravitated to my favorite meal too - the Indo-Mee Goreng, instantly transported me to the bustling streets of Jakarta, while the Daging Rendang Minang was a true masterpiece. I paired these with the fragrant Nasi Hujan Panas, and each bite was a harmonious blend of spices and textures.

Are you a seafood lover? If you are, you are in for a treat with the From the Blue Ocean selection, where fresh Smoked Salmon and Seafood on Ice took center stage. But my heart was set on the grand display of Kambing Bakar and Ayam Golek Percik at the BBQ station. The smoky aroma and perfectly charred exterior of the meat were irresistible and the flavors were elevated by the accompanying Air Asam and rich, spicy sauces.

No iftar meal is complete without indulging in traditional desserts, and Warisan Serumpun did not disappoint. A vibrant selection of Aneka Kuih Melayu, including Puding Gula Hangus and Bubur Jagung, offered a sweet conclusion to the feast. The Manisan Stall served refreshing Cendol and Air Batu Campur, perfect for cooling down after a flavorful meal.

As I sipped on a comforting cup of Teh Tarik, while listening to the live singing performances by Didiekustik! Enjoy two performances every day from March 5 to March 28, 2025. My tablemates were singing our hearts out to the songs - their voice was beautiful and the list was wonderful.
