Let me share a place I will always frequent for Ramadan. MiCasa All Suite Hotel welcomes you to its inviting embrace. Make your way to Shiso Dining, where the Ramadan buffet awaits. There was a comforting sense of togetherness in the air—families, friends, and strangers gathered to share not just food, but the spirit of the holy month.

The theme, "Icip Icip Desa," promised a culinary journey back to the heart of traditional village flavors, and it was delivered from the very first bite. 

'Icip-Icip Desa' literally translates to 'Tasting the Flavors of the Village'. It evokes a sense of traditional, rustic, and authentic flavors—bringing the comforting, homemade taste of village cuisine to the dining experience. Perfect for a Ramadan buffet aiming to showcase nostalgic, heartwarming dishes!

I started with Kerabu Kerisik Kulit Timun, its tangy freshness awakening my palate, followed by a taste of Nasi Ulam Ayam Percik, where the smoky, spicy notes danced harmoniously with fragrant herbs. The Asam Pedas Tetel packed a punch of sour and spicy goodness, while the Itik Salai Masak Lemak Cili Api offered a creamy, fiery contrast that left me reaching for more. The Nasi Ambeng, beautifully presented on a large platter, was a delightful mix of rice, serunding, fried noodles, and rich, flavorful dishes that brought a communal, kampung-style feel to the dining experience.

No iftar is complete without something sweet, and MiCasa's dessert spread was a vibrant celebration of colors and flavors. I indulged in assorted Malay Kuih, their delicate textures and subtle sweetness offering the perfect counterbalance to the savory dishes. The Pengat Pisang and Nangka were creamy and comforting, while the ABC and Cendol provided a refreshing, icy finish, with layers of shaved ice, colorful jelly, sweet corn, and a generous drizzle of gula melaka and coconut milk creating a delightful explosion of flavors. A cup of frothy Teh Tarik tied it all together, its familiar warmth lingering as a final note, alongside an assortment of fresh fruits and traditional pickles that added a refreshing, tangy twist to the end of the meal.

The live cooking stations were a spectacle of their own. Watching the chefs expertly handle sizzling woks and grilling tender cuts of meat added a lively energy to the evening.

• Freshly Prepared Ramadan Specials: Indulge in a selection of freshly prepared soups and salads to break your fast, including Oxtail soup, Lautan Seafood (back by popular demand), Roasted Lamb and a variety of mixed greens with refreshing dressings.

• Delectable Desserts: Choose from an array of assorted Malay Kuih, variety Fruit Pickles, Pengat Pisang and Nangka, ABC & Cendol, perfectly complemented with a selection of fresh fruits and Teh Tarik, coffee and a variety selection of jar drinks.

What stood out most wasn’t just the food, but the atmosphere—a spacious, beautifully arranged dining area that encouraged connection and conversation. Even as a solo diner, I felt part of something larger, a shared moment of gratitude and reflection.

With thoughtful touches like a surau facility for prayers and convenient flat-rate parking at RM5 nett per entry, MiCasa ensured every detail was covered. 

The buffet runs from 7th to 23rd March 2025, from 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm. 

The price is RM139 nett per adult, and RM95 nett for senior citizens (60 years and above) and children (5-12 years old). Take advantage of the Early Bird Price from 10th January to 28th February 2025 at RM109 nett per adult.
