- Batman Ninja's fight scenes were first filmed with live actors, then transformed into animation for a dynamic, lifelike feel.
- Robin’s flute melody, played alongside two little monkeys to take down the Joker, is a nod to the classic Batman (1966) theme.
- Batman’s ship in the film is inspired by the 15th-century Korean Geobukseon (turtle ship).

Batman finds himself in a time-travel nightmare when Gorilla Grodd’s Quake Engine sends him to feudal Japan. He’s immediately hunted by samurai working for the Joker and soon discovers that Gotham’s worst villains, Two Face, Penguin, Poson Ivy and Deatch Stroke, had arrived two years earlier. Each has become a warlord and controls a state, battling for dominance. With Catwoman’s help, Batman sets out to stop them from reshaping history.
Alfred is also in the past and has built a Batcave outside Edo. When Joker’s forces attack, Batman charges Arkham Castle in his Batmobile, only to see teh castle transform into a giant robot fortress. Just as he’s about to defeat the Joker, he’s tricked by Harley Quinn and forced to retreat. But he’s rescued by the Bat Clan, a ninja group that believes in a prophecy of a foreign bat ninja restoring order. Batman meets up with his Bat-Family—Nightwing, Red Hood, Red Robin, and Robin, who have arrived earilier and have been training with the clan.

Grodd, the mastermind behind the time displacement, planned to get rid of Gotham’s villains and rule the city himself. But thanks to Batman’s interference, things went sideways. In a twist, Batman and Grodd form a temporary alliance to retrieve the Quake Engine from Arkham Castle. But, unsurprisingly, Grodd betrays Batman, siding with Two-Face. The Joker and Harley also make their move, blowing up their own ship and nearly taking Batman down with them.
While recovering, Batman decides his only chance to win is to embrace the ways of the ninja. Meanwhile, Red Hood finds Joker and Harley living as peaceful farmers with no memory of their past crimes. But the final battle looms, and the villains bring their castle-robots to the battlefield. Grodd takes control, but somehow, the Joker outplays everyone, merging the castles into a massive super-robot, Lord Joker.
With Grodd now an ally (again), Batman commands an army of monkeys that form a giant samurai warrior, which then fuses with bats to create the legendary Batgod.
Can Batgod restores the natural order in Japan?
