Holland town in Michigan is famous for its tulips, windmill and close-knit community. Nancy Vandergroot, a teacher, leads a peaceful life with her husband Fred, a well-known optometrist, and their 13-year-old son, Harry. But her world unravels when she suspects Fred is cheating.

Nancy confides in Dave, a fellow teacher and newcomer to town, convincing him to help uncover the truth. As their bond deepens, Nancy becomes determined to find proof before leaving Fred. Her suspicions grow when she finds a receipt contradicting his whereabouts and later discovers a box of Polaroid film. She finds that odd, given they don’t own a Polaroid camera.

Determined, Nancy and Dave follow Fred to a hotel. While Dave watches from the bar, Nancy sneaks into Fred’s room, finding underwear, handcuffs, and dog treats, but no solid proof of infidelity. She heads home to pick up Harry, leaving Dave to continue tailing Fred. Their discoveries take a horrifying turn.
